1700 large map of Greenland and northern Canada, rhumb lines
This map shows the state of European knowledge of the American arctic at the close of the 17th century. Notice the “Destroit d'Anian” at the lower left: This marks a common fantasy that there was a navigable northwest passage. This appears to be the 1696 issue.
